2Good quality but too small  Sep 03, 2009 By Matthew C. Fielder
This is a great little salt cellar. Unfortunately in this case the key word is little. Really little. If a half dozen of them were purchased so that each person at a dinner party could have their own little personal salt cellar, then I suppose they would be good for that, but as something to store salt in next to the stove for easy use and access, it's just not big enough. Also the lid just kind of sits on top and doesn't really have any ridge to speak of to hold it in place.

1Small and hard to use  May 22, 2011 By Sam Miller "Sam"
Everything that is said in the description is true, but only to a point. It really is small. The little knob on the lid is almost impossible to get a grip on, the groove in the lid is enough to hold the lid in place as long as it isn't bumped or nothing even gently touches it, certainly not "to fit securely on the body". A little too utilitarian looking to put on a table for guests, but much too small and delicate to be of much use in the kitchen. The little spoon is cute.

It is one of those things you buy thinking it would be nice, but then put in the back of a drawer and eventually sell at a yard sale when you get enough of them together.

I should have returned it, but it just wasn't worth the trouble.

6 months later, an addendum:
It is made of very low quality Stainless Steel. If salt sits in it for more than a week or so, it starts to corrode. Rather useless for keeping salt.

It is going to the next yard sale.

4Salt Cellar  Sep 24, 2009 By Jean Carroll "rottie fan"
This is a considerable amount smaller in size than it appears in the images I found. However it is a good quality stainless steel, brushed surface is great, no finger smudges. The lid has a nice little ridge to keep it in place over the conveniently included spoon. This would also be great for any other condiment, perfect sugar bowl for a small apartment size kitchen table as well.

4steel salt cellar  Apr 03, 2009 By Raymond K "raycarm"
This is a bargain buy for anyone who wants a convenient supply of salt, pepper or spice at their stove. Very reasonable and durable replacement for ceramic cellars. Only complaint: a wee bit small.
